GIS Application Support Engineer

Essential – must be able to pronounce Welsh and use basic phrases.
Flexible – Must be available to travel to other offices in Wales from the base office
The Application Support Engineer will support GIS applications in Azure at a corporate level including:
ArcGIS Server
ArcGIS Desktop
Portal for ArcGIS
FME (Desktop & Server)
The successful candidate must have skills in managing incidents and service requests according to ITIL, expertise in providing technical input to projects, and be able to create technical documentation and implementation plans. You will be working with the Senior Application Support to support the various solutions and be part of the GIS & COTS team in the organisations Application Support Team.
Working to the Spatial Team Leader, the Spatial Engineer is required to provide 2nd line technical support and maintenance for all our clients Spatial Solutions within an ITIL framework and in line with the wider teams Target Operating Model, to deliver an outstanding customer focused service
Key Accountabilities: -
Ensure the health and availability of applications and systems in line with ICT governance.
Ensure that incidents and service requests are resolved within the agreed service level agreements.
Follow the Application Support Team workplan.
Work with Senior Engineers to resolve issues and improve live systems.
Advise and provide guidance for Analysts and Apprentices within the team.
Follow proactive tasks and maintenance schedules and implement routine upgrades of services.
Work with external strategic partners to ensure application issues are resolved within service level agreements.
Develop and release application patches in line with ICT governance.
Assist in the coordination of User Acceptance Testing of our clients applications and services.
Work with the senior engineers to develop new and enhance existing application in line with ICT development methodology.
Qualifications or knowledge: -
Experience of working with ESRI technology including ArcSDE and ArcGIS for Server.
Experience of working within an Azure Environment.
Experience of using FME Desktop, FME Cloud and FME Server.
Experience of spatial data management including Ordnance Survey data.
Working experience of application lifecycle methodologies.
Experience of Incident, Problem, Change and Release management processes
