QA Tester (Automate) Milton Keynes

Role Summary:  

You will be responsible for software test automation design, planning, scripting and execution for a project.  

You should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. 

You will work closely with developers, designers, test engineers, product owner and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC (AGILE), executing automated test iterations, tracking & reporting test results, troubleshooting and coordinating the bug fixes. The individual should have a strong understanding of agile processes and the related QA lifecycle and automation methodology. 


Full Stack with NodeJS will be responsible for programming functionalities, including automated complex testing, multi-tier front and backend applications using, as well as providing operational support for existing applications always based on a Continuous Integration and continuous development view 


You will be part of a Development Team using Scrum with the responsibility of develop RESTful APIs and some front end using Angular. 


The QA Automate Test Specialist required skillset includes cross platform, cross tool, open source, solution architecture, strategy and consulting skills. 


Role Responsibilities:

l  Design solutions for Quality Processes, Testing & Automation Strategies and Test Execution Systems.

l  Review requirements, evaluate an implement the automation scripts following the methodologies and tools selected.

l  Research and Propose tool & technology choices for delivering high quality, performant and scalable testing solution.

l  Collaborate with the rest of the automation teams to define and implement best practices.

l  Support automated testing process by scoping and independently implementing or leading framework extension projects

l  Solve for efficiency, consistency and effectiveness

l  Operate on complex tasks/projects with minimal guidance

l  Lead development of test harnesses to drastically improve productivity and reduce repetitive manual procedure by functional testers.

l  Build metrics and automated systems for gathering/analysing quality checkpoints.


Knowledge and skills required:  

Essential: experience of working as automation test Analyst within investment bank area into a Retail and Corporate Banking.

l  Agile methodologic

l  2-5 years of intensive development experience

l  Confident with GIT object model, branching and pull-request workflow. Experience with gitlab repository management, npm packaging and versioning. Experience with Karma, Protractor and Mocha, Chai from NodeJS for automated testing and  for build automation and dependency management. Experience with Jenkins, Openshift configuration and deployment pipelines. High level Programming experience in NodeJS, AngularJS and MongoDB is essential and knowledge of Java also is desirable.

l  Experience in IBM API Connect and StrongLoop is a plus.

l  Experience with test automation and frameworks using Keyword, data driven and Business functions   

l  Should have work experience in AGILE project teams.

l  Knowledge of working with TDD methodology.

l  Experience in working with continuous integration environment/project and have good knowledge of GIT and Jenkins. Should be able to configure automation scripts with Jenkins.

l  Should have knowledge and Experience with backend automation for SOAP And REST services (API and webservices).

l  Should have a good working knowledge of SQL and database structures

l  Knowledge & Experience on JIRA tool is a must

l  Automating mobile application testing across multiple internet browsers.

l  Should be able to create new automation framework (if required) and not just adding scripts to existing framework.

l  Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-effort, dynamic work environment
